Course: Effective Note Taking
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST
Good notes are an essential tool for effective union representation. Whether meeting with members, dealing with management, investigating grievances, or participating in collective bargaining, accurate and complete notes help preserve important information, support effective decision-making, and protect both members and their unions. This practical workshop will explore when and why to take notes, what information to include, and techniques for making your notes clear, accurate, and useful long after the meeting has ended. We’ll also discuss how notes can be used in grievances, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings, as well as when they may need to be disclosed to members, employers, or others.
