Miners Memorial Weekend

The Miner’s Memorial Weekend is a weekend celebration of labour solidarity and a means to honour the sacrifices of early miners on Vancouver Island.

The Graveside Vigil and Ceremony will take place at the resting place of Ginger Goodwin, Joe Naylor and other miners from around the world on Saturday at 11:00am at the Cumberland Municipal Cemetery, and 12:15 at the Nikkei No Haka Japanese Cemetery.

The Cumberland Museum and Archives will host events all weekend long starting with a ‘Songs of the Workers’ concert on Friday night. Follow the LINK for  more information about all their weekend events.
